Family speaks out on the murder of a Providence woman

"And I just can't believe that someone killed her," said Shelia Calderon, the sister of Aretha Beard who was found dead in Roger Williams Park in Providence Tuesday evening. "Just to toss her, that was someone's mother, that was somebody's sister, she has nephews, a community, she was a disabled vet and they just throw her away in the park," Calderon continued. Providence Police are investigating the case as a homicide and are currently waiting for an autopsy to find out exactly how Beard died, while her family anxiously awaits for answers. Beard was 45-years-old of Providence, the youngest of three children, recently married with children of her own.
