Four pedestrians struck Saturday; two separate hit and runs in Pawtucket

{}Two pedestrians were struck Saturday afternoon, which marks at least four people hit by a car on Saturday. Two separate hit and runs occurred in Pawtucket on Saturday.

{}In Providence, police tell NBC 10 two pedestrians were struck on Saturday shortly after 5:00 p.m. on the Point Street Bridge with their backs facing traffic. The operator of the vehicle stopped and told police that he was unable to see the two walking in the road because of heavy sun glare.

{}The pair were transported to Rhode Island Hospital with minor injuries and the driver is not facing any charges. Police noted that the sidewalks were passable and are not sure why the two were walking in the road.

{}In Pawtucket, one man remains in the hospital after being seriously injured following a hit and run. Police say the man was struck on Newport Avenue between 1:00 a.m. - 2:30 a.m. on Saturday.

{}Later in the day, police responded to another hit and run on Newport Avenue in the area of Cushman Street around 4:30 p.m. Pawtucket Police are asking for assistance from anyone who witnessed either incident.
