Triple stabbing on Valley Street in Providence
A triple stabbing took place Wednesday night at a Providence night club.
The injuries were non-life-threatening, but club business is on hold as police continue to investigate.
Police tape wrapped around Simon's 677 following the incident, which occurred around 10 p.m. at the nightclub on Valley Street.
Police were prepared to ask for an emergency closure at Thursday's Board of Licenses hearing, but the city's assistant solicitor said that is not necessary because the club owner agreed to close voluntarily.
"The licensee shares the concerns," said Assistant City Solicitor Mario Martone. "[The licensee] has agreed sothe investigation can continue and sospeculation [and] potential danger will be avoided completely, at least at that location. They have agreed to remain closed."
The board will address the issue again on Monday and determine if further action needs to take place.
The victims were treated at Rhode Island and Roger Williams Hospitals.
