The NBC 10 I-Team has confirmed that two Coventry men were arrested Wednesday morning and await child porn charges.

Court records indicate 42-year-old Peter Blanchette and 31-year-old Anthony Pascone were each arrested Wednesday at 6:30 a.m. by Rhode Island State Police on possession of child pornography charges. Both men face arraignment Wednesday afternoon in Kent County Court.

An NBC 10 News camera was on Columbia Avenue in Coventry at about 9 a.m. as detectives and officers with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force searched for evidence both inside the home and in a white SUV parked in the driveway. A woman who said she owned the home told the I-Team that her son and some roommates lived in the home. She said detectives were interested in her son's roommates and left with computers and electronics. State police spokeswoman Laura Kirk said a search warrant was executed at the home.

According to its website, the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Program is "a national network of 61 coordinated task forces representing over 3,500 federal, state, and local law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies. These agencies are continually engaged in proactive and reactive investigations and prosecutions of persons involved in child abuse and exploitation involving the Internet."

Both men were held on $5,000 bond with surety. The two will spend the night at the Rhode Island Dept. of Corrections' Adult Correctional Institution.
