7-year-old boy found unresponsive in East Greenwich pool dies

    A seven-year-old boy who was found unresponsive in an East Greenwich pool has died, police told NBC 10 News on Tuesday

    According to authorities, police and firefighters responded to a home on Bow Street on June 18.

    When they arrived at the scene, authorities were told the child was found floating face down in the pool. An adult at the home pulled the boy from the pool, with first responders beginning CPR.

    The boy was then transported to Kent Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

    Police said a party was being held at the home when the incident occurred. At least 20 adults and 15 children of varying ages were there at the time.

    The child, who lived in East Greenwich, was a student at Meadowbrook Elementary School.

    The Medical Examiner's Office is investigating, police said.
