8 men face charges in rape of teenager in Providence home

The Rhode Island Attorney General said Tuesday that eight men were charged in a 13-count indictment stemming the sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl in Providence that investigators said was videotaped.
Prosecutors said several of the defendants raped the unconscious girl at a Glenham Street home in Providence in December and videotaped portions of the sexual assaults.
"Not only did they criminally and viciously assault her but completely violated her in so many inhumane ways," Providence Police Chief Hugh Clements said in September announcing seven arrests.
They said none of the assailants or bystanders reported the sexual assault to the police. The defendants are all 19 or 20, except for one who is 25.
The men are due in court for arraignment on Nov. 25.
