A robber with a gun threatens to hurt a store owner's kids
The robber points a gun at Ahmad Abdulrahman Monday night, which didn't seem to phase the Fall River convenience store owner all that much.
He was more concerned about his young children just feet away.
"He pulled a gun so I was like, seriously. It's a gun. I open the register to take his attention so he won't look at my kids. I don't want him to see my kids. But when he noticed my kids, he waved the gun toward my kids and he told me, 'don't do anything stupid, I'm going to harm your kids.' It was a straight message to me and I have to act smart, take everything, Abdulrahman told NBC10 Friday.
Abdulrahman's 2 year old son and 5 year old daughter are regularly at his Farm Market on Durfee St.
"My baby boy was here and my daughter was standing on the chair over there facing me and him. She was watching everything."
Abdulrahman, who came to Fall River from war-torn Syria, was just on NBC10 four months ago after he used a 2x4 to fight off a would-be robber dressed like a ninja.
But not this time.
"I can fight man to man. I have no problem. I'm a fighter. But when it comes with the kids, for me, all the money is not worth it," Abdulrahman said.
Now Fall River police hope publicizing images of the robber will help catch him.
"He's just someone desperate for some money. He will use anything to take what he wants. He's an animal basically," Abdulrahman said.
The thief got away with cash and cigarettes.
