A Bristol County father and son were in the hospital Monday after being shot while riding their motorcycles on the Southeast Expressway, according to Massachusetts State Police.

A 32-year-old East Taunton man is in critical condition with life-threatening injuries, MSP media relations director David Procopio said. His father, a 54-year-old man from Raynham, suffered serious injuries, but is expected to survive.

The shooting shut down 93 Southbound near exit 12 for several hours on Sunday.

Boston media outlets reported that 30-year-old Lance Holloman of Dorchester was arrested in connection to the incident. Massachusetts State Police said Holloman has not been charged in the shooting.

According to Boston media sources, Holloman is also a person of interest in a fatal shooting of a Boston woman.

Authorites reported two men were in the red Jeep Renegade that fired at the motorcyclists. They believe the men traveled onto Route 28.

Police recovered the Jeep overnight and said it is being processed in a secure location.

Police said it is too early in the investigation to discuss a possible motive.
