Bellingham police recover stolen merchandise

Bellingham police released this photo of recovered stolen merchandise.

Police in Bellingham and neighboring departments said they broke up an organized retail theft ring based in Brockton.

Police said hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of merchandise was stolen from stores like The Home Depot and Lowe's across Massachusetts.

Police said Paul Licciardi, 49, of Brockton, and two other people whose names were not released supplied Shawn Monteiro, 46, of Brockton, with the stolen merchandise to resell on apps and websites.

Thousands of dollars in cash was recovered from Monteiro's home.

Licciardi and Monteiro were charged with larceny, retail theft and conspiracy. They were being held on $50,000 cash bail.
