COVENTRY, R.I. (WJAR) — Coventry police said a car crashed into an apartment building in Coventry, causing heavy damage to one unit.
They said the 58-year-old driver apparently suffered a medical problem.
Police and firefighters responded to 210 Woodland Drive at about 5:45 p.m. Wednesday.
Police said the car went several feet into bedroom, trapping the driver.
The driver was rescued and taken to a hospital. The driver's name was not released.
The tenant was not home.
Police said the building inspector found the building to be safe, but the tenant of the damaged unit was displaced.
