Corporate owner of local radio stations files for bankruptcy

iHeartMedia, the largest radio station owner in the United States, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

The company said it will pay back investors after it restructures billions in debt that it took on before the financial crisis.

iHeart owns Coast 93.3, B101, 94 HJY and News Radio 920 in the Providence market.
