School administrators said they are investigating a threat at Cranston High School West.

In a statement, Principal Thomas Barbieri said there have been a few instances of vandalism and graffiti in the boys' bathrooms, including one that included a "non-specific threat."

"The CHSW administration, in cooperation with district central office personnel and the Cranston Police Department, has taken precautionary steps to ensure that our students, faculty and staff are provided with a safe and secure learning environment," Barbieri said in a letter to parents.

Barbieri said a student reported the threat to the administration.
