Police: Planned marijuana robbery resulted in fatal shooting
One of three suspects arrested in connection with the shooting death of a man in an Attleboro home during an attempt to steal marijuana pleaded not guilty.
Prosecutors said during his arraignment Monday that 25-year-old DeVaun Petigny had knowledge of an Attleboro home that had 10 pounds of marijuana inside and helped plan the Dec. 4 botched robbery.
The Sun Chronicle reported that the robbery resulted in the death of 34-year-old Thomas Pomare, who was visiting from California.
Petigny pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery and was ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing Dec. 22. He has not been charged with murder.
Petigny's public defender said he could not comment on the case.
Authorities have not identified a gunman.
