DUI suspect crashes car into stone wall
Portsmouth police arrested a Little Compton woman for driving under the influence after she crashed her car into a stone wall.
Officers responded to a residence on Middle Road to find a 2010 Chevrolet smashed through a stone wall.
That is where police say they also found the 59-year-old operator, Susan Mary Sherman, displaying signs of intoxication.
According to police, Sherman failed field sobriety tests and was arrested.
Officers made a note that a bottle of brandy could be seen in her vehicle.
Crews transported Sherman to a hospital for her injuries where she declined testing says the department. Authorities served Sherman a summons for a DUI 2nd Offense and refusal to submit to a chemical test.
Police also cited Sherman for failing to maintain proper control of a vehicle.
