Evictions in Rhode Island rise since moratorium expired

A moratorium in Rhode Island expired in June and the numbers continue to climb.

More than 12,000 new evictions were filed in August. That's up from about 800 in July and just 549 in June.

However, overall, evictions are down more than 40 percent compared with last year.
