Firefighter injured in Barrington blaze
A Seekonk firefighter was injured while battling a Barrington house fire Wednesday night, a witness told NBC 10 News.
The fire broke out at a home on Bowden Avenue at about 10 p.m. Video showed smoke pouring from the structure.
The firefighter called a "mayday" just after the second floor went up in flames, according to reports from the scene.
Witnesses said other firefighters raced inside to save the firefighter and emerged with him within about five minutes.
The firefighter was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with burns to his ears.
The Red Cross was at the scene helping residents, as two residents made it out safely.
A cause is undetermined.
