Former RI lawmaker Watson faces breaking and entering charge

Former Rhode Island House Minority Leader Robert Watson was charged with unlawful breaking and entering into a house in East Greenwich.

Police said Watson was arrested on Monday “based on an incident that occurred on South Pierce Road.” He was taken into custody and sent to Kent Hospital, where he was arraigned and later turned over to the ACI, according to a press release.

Watson was arraigned and his bail was set at $10,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on November 21st for a bail and probation violation hearing.

Watson was also arrested in 2011 and 2012 for drug and alcohol possession.
