Heavy snow leads to thousands of power outages

Thousands of people were without power Wednesday night, as heavy snow fell across Southern New England.

As of 11 p.m., about 12,600 National Grid customers were in the dark.

In Eastern and Central Massachusetts approximately 31,000 people didn’t have power, according to Eversource.

Road conditions weren’t much better. The snow was so wet and heavy, as well as coming down very quickly, that drivers were struggling to get traction and not slide on slippery streets.
