High school students in Pawtucket got their hands-on building experience and college credit by converting old storage containers into tiny solar homes for veterans.

Gov. Dan McKee toured one of the homes Thursday morning.

Shea High School students took part in the Teen Apprenticeship Program at the Center for Dynamic Learning in Providence.

The goal is to build six of these homes over two years.

The homes will be moved to the Dare to Dream Ranch in Foster, where veterans undergo treatment and therapy for PTSD and mental health disorders.
