Man attacked on Providence street

Providence police said Friday that they are looking for three people who attacked a man in Lower South Providence.

Police said three people approached the man at about 10 p.m. Thursday on Croyland Road and demanded his car keys and money.

Police said the victim replied that he had no money and that he was struck in the face with a gun.

Investigators said a witness reported seeing the three assailants beating the man. They say she yelled out and that the attackers ran away.

The man was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with head injuries. His name and condition were not available.

Police said he was unable to give investigators any more details because of his injuries.
