A new book about The Station nightclub fire in West Warwick went on sale Tuesday.

"Trial by Fire" was written by New York Times columnist Scott James.

The fire on Feb. 20, 2003, killed 100 people and injured 200. Investigators said it was started by pyrotechnics that set soundproofing foam on fire.

"Drawing on firsthand accounts, interviews with many involved, and court documents, James explores the rush to judgment about what happened that left the victims and their families, whose stories he also tells, desperate for justice," a promotional description of the book says.

The owners of the club, brothers Michael and Jeffrey Derderian, were interviewed for the book, as were several survivors and others who've never spoken publicly before.

The Derderians will receive no compensation from the book.

"Trial by Fire" is available in bookstores now.
