The highest ranking female officer in North Providence has settled a sexual harassment lawsuit with the town.
Lt. Diana Perez on Wednesday was awarded $150,000, according to her attorney. She was awarded $75,000 from the town itself and $75,000 from its insurer.
Perez sued in 2016, accusing her supervisors, including the former acting police chief, of inappropriate, discriminatory and vulgar comments.
Perez will remain on the North Providence police force.
