Pawtucket man arrested for allegedly sharing child pornography online
A Pawtucket man was arrested after police said he was sharing child pornography over the internet.
Peter Medeiros, 55, of Pawtucket, was arrested early Friday morning.
Pawtucket police said they executed a search warrant at 86 Magill Street and identified Medeiros as the alleged owner of the digital media used to possess and transfer child pornography.
Authorities said Medeiros was convicted in 1993 for three counts of first degree child molestation and one count of second degree child molestation.
He is currently on probation until 2029.
The 55-year-old was arraigned in Providence District Court Friday on the new charges and was held on $5,000 surety bail.
