Police department warns of more phone scams using fallen officer Sgt. Sean Gannon

The Barnstable Police Department is warning it’s residents that another round of phone scams are circulating using the name of fallen officer Sgt. Sean Gannon.

According to police, the callers say they are soliciting funds for the Sgt. Sean Gannon fund, but they are not legitimate.

“Please be wary of anyone calling to ask for money and do not provide any personal, credit card, or banking information over the phone to anyone without first verifying the legitimacy of the organization.

Police say the number associated with this scam usually start with the digits 508-418.

Gannon was killed while serving a warrant in Barnstable. His K-9 Partner Nero also suffered significant injuries.
