The East Providence Police Department has charged a driver with DUI after a rollover crash in which the vehicle went airborne, the department said on Sunday.

The department says a vehicle was exiting the offramp near Broadway and Freeborn Avenue around 10:00 p.m., when the vehicle allegedly went through an intersection, hit a curb, and went airborne.

Police say the vehicle grazed a nearby house and then rolled over.

There was only one person in the car.

The individual was transported to Rhode Island Hospital after suffering minor injuries.

Police say the house sustained minor damage.

The department charged the individual with DUI but did not release a name.
