Police identify body found in Pawtuxet Cove during training exercise

The Warwick Police Department identified the body of a man found under the Pawtuxet Bridge on Post Road on Wednesday.

The man has been identified as Carl Greenlund, 55, of Warwick.

Col. Steven McCartney said the Warwick Police Department dive team were doing search and recovery training when they discovered a body in Pawtuxet Cove around 1 p.m.

Officials say the cause of death appears to be suicide by means of drowning, however, the investigation remains open.
