Cumberland man accused of leaving fireworks on school grounds

A 46-year-old Cumberland man is accused of leaving a firework behind a middle school Wednesday, which caused an evacuation of the building.

Police said Steven Robinson will be charged with trespassing, vandalism and disorderly conduct.

Police said Robinson rode a dirt bike to McCourt Middle School at about 8:45 a.m., left the fireworks, and took off.

Somebody in the school reported the incident to police. Based on a description, they found Robinson at his home.

Classes resumed after a short time.
