The Cranston Police Department is asking the public to help them identify a suspect caught stealing an officer’s sunglasses at a funeral home.

A 25-second surveillance video shows an unidentified man walking out of Nardolillo's Funeral Home on Park Avenue on March 9 around 10:45 a.m.

The man spots the sunglasses on a table by the exit, grabs them and puts them on as he walks out.

Police described the suspect as a white man with grey hair. He has a beard, a heavy-set build and was wearing blue jeans and a dark-colored jacket.

Authorities also said the sunglasses belong to a member of the traffic unit, who was “providing motor assistance for a grieving family.”

If you recognize the suspect, contact Inspector David Boucher at 401-477-5063 or directly at 401-942-2211.
