Police: Wrong-way driver crash ends in fatality

Massachusetts State Police are investigating a wrong-way driver crash in Fall River.

Police say a Somerset man travelling in the wrong direction on Route 79 in Fall River crashed his Nissan Altima into a Ford Escape, sending both drivers to two hospitals.

Police say Raymond J. Martin, who was driving the Altima in the wrong direction, crashed into another car driven by a 59-year-old Fall River man in the area of North Main Street. Martin was transported to Charlton Memorial Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The unidentified Fall River man was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries, according to police.

Police said the crash is still under investigation.
