Portsmouth police find drugs in car's hidden compartment

Portsmouth police said Thursday that they found drugs hidden in a secret compartment of a car stopped by officers.

A news release said Josmaira Martinez faced charges of possession with intent to deliver cocaine and heroin.

Police said officers stopped her car near Park and Cottage avenues at about 2 p.m. Wednesday.

A search of the vehicle revealed a hidden electronic compartment that contained 58 grams of cocaine and 28 grams of heroin laced with fentanyl. Officers also seized $1,060.

Police said the drugs had a street value of about $8,600.
