Prisoner escapes federal custody in Somerville

SOMERVILLE, Mass. — An 18-year-old prisoner is on the loose in Massachusetts after he escaped from federal custody Friday morning while being transported to Somerville.

Gabriel Castillo Perez was last seen on Linden St. in Somerville wearing a light brown jacket, white button-down shirt, blue t-shirt, blue jeans, and black sneakers. His hands were also handcuffed to the front of his body.

Perez is affiliated with the street gang MS-13 and has a history of violence.
