Victim in Providence homicide identified
Providence police tell NBC 10 News that a woman's body discovered in an apartment in a triple-decker home is being investigated as a homicide.
Investigators responded to the apartment on Ontario Street just after 5 p.m. Friday.
Police said the woman had been reported as missing for at least 24 hours, but her family found her deceased inside the home. Police would not say where exactly in the home she was found.
Police have identified her as 44-year-old Manirino Nkinamubanzi.
Investigators are awaiting autopsy results to determine how she died, but they saidy a gun did not appear to be involved.
Providence police said they are speaking to a suspect, but no arrests have been made.
NBC 10 has also learned that the victim had a restraining order against her husband.
