Police in Raynham are investigating a motor vehicle accident involving a tractor-trailer on Route 138 Tuesday morning.

Officers were dispatched to Rt. 138 near the Raynham IcePlex at about 9:20 a.m.

The department said a black BMW 128 two-door coupe had collided with the front driver's side of the tractor-trailer.

The driver of the BMW, a 28-year-old Taunton man, was transported to the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.

Raynham police said the Taunton man was driving erratically when he allegedly crossed on to the opposite lane of traffic and crashed the front driver’s side of the tractor-trailer.

Both vehicles sustained serious damages.

A hazardous material cleanup crew was called to the scene because fuel was leaking from the tractor-trailer. The northbound side of Rt. 138 was closed for clean up.

Residents and commuters were asked to take alternative routes and to avoid that area.
