Relocation of bear family stops all traffic on Route 2 in Massachusetts


    A bear family was relocated from a median on Route 2. Traffic came to a halt as officials moved the family. (MSP)

    Traffic came to a standstill on Route 2 in Massachusetts on Thursday as environmental officers attempted to relocate a bear family that had made their den in a median.

    Massachusetts Environmental Police tranquilized the mother bear and carried out her cubs.

    The mother bear had to be tranquilized before the move. (MSP)


    Pictures of the adorable cubs were shared by the Massachusetts State Police online.

    According to state police, the family was moved to a new den in a nearby state forest.

    State police thanked the public for “bearing with” the halted traffic.
