Smithfield man promotes patriotism on Fourth of July
A Smithfield man has taken to the streets to raise patriotism on the Fourth of July.
Mason Walmsley, 18, was walking around town carrying the American flag this week.
Walmsley, who was wearing red, white and blue, told NBC 10 News he has seen a decline in patriotism during the years and wants to help spread his love for the country with others.
“I’m doing this to spread spirit and to reinvoke the emotions that people once had that they don’t have any more for our country,” he said. “(I want to) really spread some positive energy because there’s a lot of bad happening in the world and I want to be someone who makes a change and makes a positive impact on the world.”
