Smithfield Police are searching for three suspects after an early morning home invasion Wednesday.

Smithfield Police say they responded to a residence on Barnes Street around 12:40 a.m.

The home owners told police they were watching television when three men entered the home and demanded money.

Two of the suspects were described as being of average height and build wearing dark clothing, one described as a white male and the other as a black male.

The third subject was described as being taller than the other two, and wearing dark clothing, a knitted ski mask and gloves.

According to the victims, two of the subjects brandished firearms, one being described as a “semi-automatic pistol”, silver in color with a rounded barrel.

The third suspect was believed to have a knife. The suspects demanded money, struck the victims in the face and left the residence with some jewelry, an I-phone and a set of car keys.

The suspects were seen leaving in what was described as an older model gray Mitsubishi SUV, that was parked down the road from the victim’s home.

The victims were treated on scene by Smithfield Rescue for minor injuries.
