Source: Grille on Main abruptly closes
NBC 10 News has confirmed that The Grille on Main, a restaurant in East Greenwich, has closed.
A source told NBC 10 on Monday that the owner sent out a text to staff members, telling them he has been in a legal battle with the landlord, as well as his partner, for the last several months.
“It is with great regret that we have just been notified today through my attorney that we have to vacate the building this Thursday forcing me to close my doors effective today,” according to the text.
The owner went on to inform employees that their checks will be ready on Thursday, adding that staffers who receive direct deposit will still receive their pay.
“I wish I had better news to share with you all but I have exhausted every legal avenue to keep (us) open,” he said.
Meanwhile, a sign on the door of the restaurant noted that “due to a legal dispute with our landlord and the inability to renew our lease with them, we have been forced to closed [sic] our doors.
