Rhode Island State Police have been busy responding to numerous car crashes due to unsafe icy roads on Sunday.

Police told NBC10 News that they have investigated 42 crashes and assisted with 10 disabled motor vehicles between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Authorities said that the road conditions have become better and the number of crashes have slowed down.
