State police release name of trucker killed in tanker crash
Massachusetts State Police on Monday released the name of the tanker truck driver who was killed when his rig crashed on Route 24 in Fall River.
Police said 67-year-old John Silva of Fairhaven was driving the truck that rolled over near exit 8 early Thursday morning and struck a car.
The tanker spilled gasoline, and the highway was closed for hours as crews cleaned up the spill and pumped gasoline out of the truck.
The driver of the car was injured.
State police said they were still investigating what caused the crash.
