SCITUATE, R.I., (WJAR) — Multiple vehicles were reported broken into in Scituate and Coventry on Sunday October 7th, and the possible suspect was caught when he used a stolen Dunkin’ Donuts card.
The Scituate Police Department says the suspect was caught because he used a stolen gift card at two locations they were able to retrieve surveillance video footage from.
Authorities arrested Devin Bryden, 29 of Warwick, because of that investigation said Scituate police.
Bryden was arrested after the execution of a search warrant in Warwick found that he was in possession of stolen items from the broken-in vehicle.
On October 7, 9 vehicles were broken into in Scituate and 3 more in the town of Coventry say police. Many of the larcenies resulted from the vehicle being unlocked, but some had their windows broken into.
Bryden was taken into custody on Monday, November 5. As Bryden was on probation, he is being held at ACI pending a Wednesday hearing.
His charges include 8 instances of larceny and two charges of vandalism.
