Police arrested a third suspect in connection with the theft of a gun from a Boston police officer.

The Providence Police Department arrested Kyle Benford on Saturday on an active warrant out of Pawtucket.

According to police, Benford is facing charges of stealing the handgun along with two strippers who were previously charged.

Benford, 24, was taken into custody during a traffic stop and held for the Pawtucket Police Department.

Police previously told NBC 10 News that Neish Rivera and Melissa Dacier were charged with stealing a firearm from an off-duty officer while the three were at a hotel in Pawtucket.

The gun was later dropped off at a fire station, and Boston police are in possession of the gun, said authorities.

Benford also faces conspiracy charges, according to police.
