More than a dozen cars and trucks have been vandalized while parked at the University of Rhode Island’s Kingston campus since April 4, according to URI police.

“Swastikas were carved into some vehicles, and pornographic shapes were carved into several others,” the university noted in a press release Monday, adding that 14 cars have been damaged. “The University condemns all forms of vandalism, but the hateful and offensive nature of these incidents deserves the strongest repudiation.”

The release went on to state that “officers have reviewed camera footage and have been conducting more frequent checks of the parking lots, but have no suspects.”

If you have information about the vandalism, call URI Police at 401-874-2121.

If you would like to remain anonymous, call 401-874-TIPS and leave a message.
