Lockdown lifted at Warwick elementary school
An elementary school is on lockdown Thursday afternoon as police in Warwick searched for individuals who fled a traffic stop.
The Hoxsie Elementary School was placed on lockdown as the Warwick Police Department searched for the vehicle in the area.
A spokesperson with the police department told NBC 10 that the suspect was caught.
Police say after the capture of the suspect, they were no longer searching the area.
The male juvenile is facing charges that include operating without a license, operating without the consent of the owner, reckless driving and eluding law enforcement.
An NBC 10 news crew noticed students were being dismissed just before 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
The lockdown was a precaution police say, and there was no threat to students.
