Woman accused of driving drunk with girl, 12, in car
Rhode Island State Police said they arrested a West Greenwich woman whose blood-alcohol content was four times the legal limit and who had a 12 year-old girl in the car with her.
State police said 52-year-old Michelle Powers was pulled over at about 8:40 a.m. Thursday for driving erratically on Route 102 in West Greenwich.
Troopers said Powers showed signs of impairment, failed a field sobriety test, and recorded a blood-alcohol level of .327. The legal limit is .08.
Powers was charged with driving under the influence with a child in the car. She was taken to South County Hospital for a medical evaluation.
The girl was turned over to relatives. State police did not say how Powers and the girl are related.
