Women allegedly stabs man with a steak knife, both arrested

North Smithfield police made two arrests after responding to a call for domestic assault.

Police arrested Janie Walker after she allegedly stabbed a man with a steak knife the day after Christmas.

Police said Walker stabbed Verlin Perry during an argument. Walker was arrested and charged with domestic felony assault, domestic disorderly conduct and obstructing a police officer.

Perry, who was arrested for one count of violating a no contact order, third felony offense, was transported to the hospital and held without bail.

Walker was released on $1,000.00 bail and was issued a no contact order. She’s due in court in March. Perry is due in court on January 11.
