Disney plans live-action 'Star Wars' show for streaming service
Disney didn't say how much it will charge for its new streaming service but did say it will be substantially less than Netflix. It will develop a new "Star Wars" live-action TV show along with other properties for subscribers. One reason why the service will be cheaper is because it won't have as much content as Netflix, at least in the beginning.
A consumer advocacy group says two types of fidget spinners being sold at Target could be dangerous. The items Fidget Wild Premium Spinner Brass and Fidget Wild Premium Spinner Metal were found to contain as much as 330 times the federal legal limit for lead in children's products, according to lab tests conducted for the U.S. Public Interest Research Group. The group is calling on Target to stop selling the items and issue recalls for the ones they've already sold, but Target said they aren't intended for kids.
Look for Amazon pop-up stores in Whole Foods Market locations this fall. It will open five Amazon pop-up stores at various Whole Foods locations ahead of the holiday shopping season. The pop-up shops will allow customers to test Amazon devices, such as Echo smart speakers and Fire tablets, and learn about services like its Prime membership.
Walmart has announced its Black Friday deals, which start at midnight Thanksgiving morning. Those who like the crowds will be able to nab "door buster'' discounts at stores starting at 6 p.m. that evening. Walmart shoppers can begin mapping out their favorite Black Friday deals today by checking the retailer's app or website. (Note: Blue laws prohibit stores from opening on Thanksgiving in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.)
