What Millennials want for Christmas
If you really want to help out a Millennial this season, consider making one of their monthly student loan payments. In a survey by Student Loan Report, nearly 70 percent of Millennial borrowers would rather get a loan payment than anything else. The Federal Reserve says an average student loan payment is $351 a month.
FedEx is hiring a few thousand extra workers to make sure deliveries get to destinations on time this holiday season. The Fort Worth Star Telegram says 2,300 of those positions will be in Texas. FedEx predicted record deliveries of 380 million to 400 million packages globally and that package volume on three of the Mondays during the holiday season will more than double its average daily volume. Cyber Monday was the biggest online shopping day in history, and the package delivery companies want to make sure they can keep up.
"Store" is apparently a dirty word. Walmart has changed its name from Walmart Stores to just Walmart. The move highlights the retailer's shift away from mainly brick and mortar to having a strong online presence too.
One market that continues to be on fire is Bitcoin. The digital currency topped $14,000 overnight, the third major milestone in 24 hours. Bitcoin is up some 1,300 percent this year. The latest move up came after exchanges say they will offer Bitcoin futures contract, helping to legitimize the currency.
