BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) - There is new information about what may have led to the death of a 3-year-old girl, allegedly at the hands of her babysitter.
Up until now, it has not been revealed what may have triggered the alleged abuse of the 3-year-old girl.
According to court documents filed by prosecutors, the toddler was simply “acting like a toddler”.
Lindsay Partin is charged with one count each of murder and involuntary manslaughter in addition to three counts of endangering children.
The charges were filed following the death of 3-year-old Hanna Wesche. Court documents allege Partin did torture or cruelly abuse the little girl while babysitting her last month. The documents also show little Hannah suffered severe injuries to her head, chest and neck, including a traumatic a brain injury.
The documents also reveal the reason for the abuse: The 3-year-old dumped ketchup into a toilet.
Back on March 8th, emergency crews found Hannah unresponsive with labored breathing. Partin told deputies Hannah fell the day before, striking her head on the floor.
The toddler was airlifted to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center where she later died.
Partin was first arraigned on lesser charges, but when the child died, the charges were upgraded and she pleaded not guilty.
She is due to return to court next month for a pretrial hearing.
