Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo is again going to turn the reins of government over to a girl for one day.

The governor is asking fifth- through eighth-grade girls to submit an essay explaining what they would do if they were governor of Rhode Island for a day.

Raimondo said it is important it is to expose young girls to the significance of public service. The contest is in conjunction with Women's History Month.

A winner will be named Governor for a Day and sworn in, in April. The deadline for entries is March 16.
