Back to work for PC Friars
The PC Friars are back to work, beginning the process of preparing for a long college basketball season.. and it all starts this week with practice.
“I’m excited to see how this group is going to come together. We have a lot of veterans that are returning, we have a lot of young kids that we are trying to incorporate into being part of the rotation. This is probably The deepest team that we have coached here Providence and we are excited to see where it takes us,” said PC head coach Ed Cooley.
The Friars return a number of seniors this year with NCAA tournament experience including Rodney Bullock and Kyron Cartwright who say they're ready to take over the leadership role.
“Coach always talks about senior urgency. We always have to play every game like it’s our last, you never know it could end up being our last. We are just not taking any place for granted and we are not taking any day for granted,” said senior guard Kyron Cartwright.
“Lot of guys that I’ve just been with us for a while, and we have a lot of chemistry together that we had before and it just grew over the summer and this preseason,” said senior Rodney Bullock.
PC head coach Ed Cooley enters his 7th season here in Friar town while bringing his team to the NCAA Tournament the last 4 years.
“I can’t believe that you’re even saying it’s our seventh season. I’ve see my kids grow up, more so than the players I’ve seen my own children getting older and I’m getting more grays and I’m wearing down a little bit. But it’s been a very, very unique journey and we’re having a lot of fun,” said Cooley.
Plus coach Cooley says Emmitt holt remains out with his injury. PC will tip off their exhibition schedule from the Dunk on October 28th.
